Not all proteins have the same quality. There are components that have a complete amino acid (including essential amino acids) and there are also some that contain only type only. Completeness of this amino acid will be more helpful for muscle growth. There are several ways to assess the quality of the protein:
■ Complete vs. Incomplete proteins
Complete protein is a protein that contains the essential amino acid completely. While Incomplete proteins are proteins that do not contain one or more essential amino acids.
■ Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER)
Ratings measure the protein with how much weight to the growing number of protein diasup.
■ Net Protein Utilization (NPU)
Rating protein is based for ease of protein digested. NPU measured from the percent of nitrogen absorbed from the amino acid in the protein product is. The more nitrogen is absorbed more easily digested protein to.
■ Biological Value (BV)
Rating based on protein utilization and protein diasup used for protein synthesis by the body. Value the higher the BV akan when essential amino acids in the complete protein.
■ Protein Digestibility corrected amino Acid Score (PDCAAS)
Rating based protein amino acid contents, kemudahannya to be proactive and essential amino acids to meet the needs of the body.
■ Protein Chemical Score
Rating based protein composition with the essential amino acid comparisons with the reference.
Essential amino acid
Is the amino acid that can not be produced by the body, therefore must be obtained from food.
- Isoleucine
- Methionine
- Tryptophan
- Leucine
- Phenylalanine - Valine
- Lysine
- Threonine
- Histidine
